What MYOB accepts
MYOB Business imports statement files in QIF or OFX format, and AccountRight on the desktop also accepts QFX and OFC. Files must be under 10MB. Ledger Pilot's MYOB download is a QIF file: one record per transaction with DD/MM/YYYY dates and a signed amount.
One rule to check first: MYOB won't import transactions dated before the company file's opening balance date (MYOB Business) or conversion month (AccountRight). If your backlog goes back further than that, the file's setup date needs sorting out before any import will work.
Step by step
- 1
Download the PDF statements
From online banking, download the statements for the period you need — one PDF per statement.
- 2
Convert them to MYOB format with Ledger Pilot
Choose the bank, upload the PDF and pick the MYOB download. Every statement is checked so the transactions add up from the opening balance to the closing balance, to the cent.
- 3
Import into MYOB Business (browser)
Go to Banking → Banking hub, click the three dots for the account, choose Import statement, pick the account, then Import statement file → Browse, select the QIF file and click Import.
- 4
Or import into AccountRight (desktop)
Go to the Banking command centre → Reconcile Accounts, enter the account, the closing balance and the statement date, then click Get Statement and select the QIF file.
- 5
Reconcile, then move to the next month
MYOB recommends importing and reconciling a large backlog one month at a time. Statements don't have to be imported in date order, but working in order makes gaps easier to spot.
