About NAB statements
National Australia Bank serves around 9 million customers and is the country's leading bank for business and agribusiness lending. NAB Internet Banking exports PDF statements for every account type, from NAB Classic Banking and NAB iSaver through to NAB Business Everyday and NAB Business Cash Maximiser accounts. The PDF format is relatively dense — Date, Transaction Details, Debits, Credits, and Balance columns sit in a tight layout that can fool generic table extractors, particularly when transactions span two rows for long descriptions. Business statements often include cheque numbers and BPAY biller codes mixed into the description, requiring smarter parsing than a simple row-by-row extraction. Australian bookkeepers process NAB statements monthly for the country's huge population of trades, professional services firms, and primary producers banking with NAB. Manual data entry into Xero, MYOB, or Excel for these clients is one of the biggest time sinks in any bookkeeping practice. Our converter handles NAB's dense layout correctly, joins multi-row transactions into single records, extracts cheque numbers into their own column, preserves the Australian DD/MM/YYYY date format expected by AU accounting software, and produces files that import cleanly into every major accounting package without manual cleanup.

Frequently asked questions
- How do I download a PDF statement from NAB Internet Banking?
- Sign in to NAB Internet Banking, click the account, select "Statements & Documents", choose the period, and click "Download". PDF and CSV are both offered, but NAB CSV omits cheque numbers — use the PDF if you need full detail.
- My NAB statement has cheques. Are the cheque numbers preserved?
- Yes. Cheque numbers (e.g. CHQ 001234) are extracted into a separate "Cheque Number" column in the output, which is critical for reconciliation in MYOB and Xero.
- Does this work for NAB Business Everyday accounts?
- Yes, plus NAB Business Cash Maximiser, NAB Business Visa, and the agribusiness account range. All use the same NAB PDF format.
- Can I convert several months of NAB statements at once?
- Yes — batch upload is available on the Business plan. Upload up to 12 NAB PDFs in one go (15 MB each, one bank per batch); each statement is converted to its own file with its own reconciliation check, so you download them individually.
- Is there a file size limit for NAB statements?
- Yes. You can upload NAB PDF statements up to 15 MB. Almost all NAB statements — even multi-page or scanned ones — fall comfortably within this limit.
